Your thoughts become your actions ... Your actions become who you are ...
Continuing Professional Development simply means Learning.
Learning serves to maintain, develop, or increase knowledge, skill, and professional performance of health care professionals which will ultimately translate into Improved Patient Care.
As the mission of Tawam, in partnership with Johns Hopkins, is to provide Quality Patient Care, staff Education is a primary focus for the institution and underlies the excellent care we strive to deliver.
To ensure ongoing staff involvement in CPD activities, all GAHS health care facilities, have instituted a Minimum Continuing Education Hour Requirement with a specified number for each professional group.
CPD at Tawam takes many forms as evidenced by the diversity of our program. The quality of sessions provided is maintained by ensuring Accreditation.
Accreditation is like having a “Seal of Approval” that the CPD activity is based on need, has clearly defined learning outcomes, allows for participant involvement and undergoes a process of evaluation leading to continuous improvement. For the purpose of maintenance of accreditation, these events are regularly audited for compliance.
The goal of our efforts is to fulfill the educational needs to enable us to better care for our patients.
